Wood Energy and Biomass: valorization by MS BOIS

MS BOIS’s Energy division valorizes all of our sawmill by-products (sawdust, bark, chips). Our group’s objective is simple: waste nothing from the raw material.

By directly processing our own biomass, we produce a French energy resource that is high-quality and high-performance. This expertise is built around two industrial activities: green energy production (cogeneration) and wood pellet manufacturing.

Cogeneration for our energy independence

Cogeneration simultaneously produces green electricity and heat from our bark. The electricity is directly fed into the national grid.

The heat, meanwhile, is recovered to power the dryers in our sawmills. This same heat enables constant drying of sawdust before it is transformed into pellets.

Wood pellet manufacturing

pellet manufacturing requires perfectly controlled sawdust moisture content.

All our production is centralized at the Saint-Paul-de-Jarrat site in Ariège. This specialized facility transforms softwood by-products into a ready-to-use, very high-efficiency heating product.

100% Natural

The pellets are composed exclusively of fir, spruce, and Douglas fir sawdust. Zero additives. Zero chemical binders.

High thermal performance

The very low moisture content of our sawdust guarantees a Lower Heating Value (LHV) of 5 kWh/kg, a level that exceeds market standards (DINplus / ENplus A1). Additionally, the dust content is reduced to the bare minimum to protect pellet boilers and stoves.

Our supplies rely primarily on by-products from our own sawmills, supplemented by carefully selected local partners. This short-circuit approach frees us from imports and international market fluctuations.

Logistics and packaging tailored for merchants

We understand distributors’ storage constraints. That’s why we’ve opted for particularly robust 15 kg bags. Your stock can be stored outdoors in your building material yards without risk of degradation. Delivery is provided throughout France.

Fully integrated supply chain

From sawing the log to the pallet delivered to your door, MS BOIS manages everything from A to Z. This absence of intermediaries limits cost volatility and ensures perfect traceability.

Controlled drying using our own heat

Using heat from our cogeneration guarantees stable moisture content for the sawdust. The result? The final pellet is very dense, doesn’t crumble during transport, and generates very little dust at the bottom of the bag.
